Board Positions

The SJPA Board consists of dedicated parents whose time and energy make our school events possible.  Current board positions are:

President coordinates all aspects of the Parents Association and its activities

Vice President coordinates all aspects of the Room Parents, acting as liaison between the Board and the Room Parents throughout the year.

Secretary keeps orderly minutes of the monthly Board meetings and distribute to the Board members.

Treasurer maintains and reconciles bank accounts and the annual budget, prepares all checks, reimbursements and bank deposits for the Parents Association

Communications Officer maintains the Parents Association’s media relationships, including the Pasadena Outlook

Educational Events Chair coordinates all aspects of enrichment programs to take place during the school day throughout the school year.

Donations Chair provides letters thanking donors, along with a tax record.

Merchandise Chair oversees all aspects of the sale of St. James logo items, including t-shirts, water bottles, caps, etc.

Adopt-A-Family co-Chairs (2) coordinate specific requests received at Christmas time from families at Hillside Homes with the classrooms and families of St. James.

Original Works Chair works closely with Original Works and the teachers to provide artwork inspiration and distribute and coordinate orders

Fall Hospitality Chair organizes refreshments, decorations and other related items for Back to School Night, Orientation Day, 1st Day of School Welcome Coffee, Kindergarten and Beyond Social and the Fall Book Fair.

Spring Hospitality Chair organizes refreshments, decorations and other related items for the Spring Open House – Day School Sunday, and Teacher Appreciation Week.

Book Fair co-Chairs (2) coordinate all aspects of this Fall/Winter fundraiser and community event.

Parent Social & Auction Co-Chairs (2) organize a cocktail party and silent auction to raise money for the Parent’s Association.

Special Friend’s Breakfast co-Chairs (2) coordinate all aspects of this spring breakfast in the Parish Hall.

Trike-a-Thon co-Chairs (2) coordinate all aspects of this spring fundraiser on the patio.

Wall Tile Chair coordinates orders, painting and installation of wall tiles to be installed on the wall at the back of the sandbox area.

Kindergarten & Beyond Chair coordinates a coffee social in the fall for St. James families to learn more about local public, private, and parochial schools in the San Gabriel Valley.
